Striving for her own piece of the street

Go looking for street food in Ottawa, and you probably won’t find much more than hot dogs and poutine.

The city imposed a moratorium on all new street food vendor permits in 1996.

Since then, the number of trucks has gone down from more than a hundred to 32.

One Ottawa woman who wants to offer healthy choices is finding that she has to do it her own way — on private property.
